Commuting with Christ…

May is around the corner! I generally hold on tight this month as it usually marks the end of school/semester, several birthdays, Mother’s Day, graduations, ceremonies, and Memorial Day. Okay, I am also inclined towards favoring May since my birthday happens to fall on this month. May enters in like a tornado whirling intense excitement and conclusions, and by the 31st it ends with trails of confetti and exhaustion. How then does one continue their devotions to Christ during these times without falling prey to the common saying, “There’s simply no time?”

I have learned throughout the years that during months of intense busyness, I must plan ahead. This practice is similar to creating prepared meal plans when both spouses work and dinner still needs to be prepared for the family. For example, you can download podcasts, bible in a year, rosary and prayer apps and use your commutes to fulfill this time with Christ. I find this practice to be quite soothing, and I feel renewed by the time I pull my car into the parking lot at work. Jokingly, I see my car as my personal office space and my phone as my office assistant. These cherished and devoted times with Christ will likely allow you to see the beauty of each event, capturing it in your mind’s eye like a cinematic film but with more admiration.
